We love it here, so why move? The simple answer is: family.

We often get asked why we're selling such a beautiful home in such a peaceful part of the world. The truth is, we still love it here. This lifestyle, the community, the beaches—it’s everything we hoped for when we moved. But life evolves, and right now, our hearts are being pulled back to family.

We’re lucky to have four wonderful grandparents still with us, all now living on the Isle of Wight. David’s parents recently retired and moved there, joining the rest of the family in one spot. It’s made us realise how much we want our children to grow up with their grandparents in their daily lives—not just on holidays.

As our parents get older, being nearby to support them feels more important than ever. There’s also the reality that, as much as we love Galicia, we’ve found the language barrier hard. Our Spanish isn’t strong, and that can make day-to-day things more challenging than we’d like.

So yes, this place is amazing. Yes, we’ve built a life we’re proud of. But it’s time for us to move closer to home—to let our kids grow up surrounded by their wider family. That’s what matters most to us now.
